If you’ve noticed blue check marks next to your WhatsApp messages, fear not, for you’re not alone. It’s just a new feature WhatsApp finally enabled which gives users the ability to know when their messages have been read, well according to their updated FAQ section.
This feature is similar to what BBM and IMessage has and users have wondered when WhatsApp will have this added to their app, though a ton of users out there have strong feelings about the indicator since they enjoy their privacy but to be honest, I think this is a welcomed addition to the app.
An update isn’t mandatory for this feature to be enabled on your device except you’re running an older version but we’re not quite sure which version gets this new indicator but if you don’t have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device, then an update is needed.
