VLC finally left beta version after two years… That’s been quite a while but even at its beta phase, the app has been running well and it’s been one of the best video player app both on Smartphones and also PC.
The new app should now offer a more stable experience all around, and includes a handful of smaller improvements as well.
VLC for Android (version 1.0.0) should work with any device running Android 2.1 or up, but a smoother experience is to be expected on newer devices. And also, this update seems to have fixed the recent crashes caused by Android 5.0 Lollipop. It also adds an equalizer, playlist management, and a new interface with white or dark options.
MicroSD card detection should be improved with subtitle support and software decoding. Regular updates should be expect now that the app left beta.
