    Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s account hacked

    Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey ‘s account was hacked on Friday. This was noticed when it seemed that he was broadcasting racist messages and bomb threats for about 20 minutes.

    Twitter quickly acknowledged that the account had been hacked

    We're aware that @jack was compromised and investigating what happened.

    However they said it was now secure. It also added that there was no indication that Twitter’s systems was compromised.

    Twitter added that “The phone number associated with the account was compromised due to a security oversight by the mobile provider. This allowed an unauthorized person to compose and send tweets via text message from the phone number. That issue is now resolved.”

    Some reports maintain that tweets were sent via Cloudhopper, a service Twitter bought in 2010 to improve its SMS service.
