SwiftKey is celebrating the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, with a new limited edition keyboard, “ShakeSpeak“. SwiftKey’s is known for its accuracy in word predictions but this new keyboard is quite different from its regular predictive features. The ShakeSpeak keyboard predicts Shakespeare’s quote through the words users are typing.
ShakeSpeak will predict what Shakespeare verse a user is trying to type out and fill in the blanks. So if you type “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art,” the keyboard will finish out that quote with a suggested “thou Romeo.” It will also offer word suggestions to make a casual text sound more like the playwright.
SwiftKey’s language experts analysed Shakespeare’s complete works, from Macbeth to The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Twelfth Night to The Tempest, allowing users to use an authentic Elizabethan touch to the way they write.
This may not mean in modern times, but the company thinks you can impress your friends with your learned Shakespearean prose.”
