The Stockholm-based Norrsken Accelerator is inviting African early-stage founders with innovative visions for a better future to apply for its program. Selected startups will receive $125,000 in funding and participate in an eight-week business development programme.
Norrsken was established in 2016 by Niklas Adalberth, one of the co-founders of Swedish fintech unicorn Klarna. Its mission is to assist entrepreneurs in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. The Norrsken ecosystem includes a co-working space in Stockholm, Norrsken House, which houses over 350 impact-driven entrepreneurs, the Norrsken Founders Fund, and the Norrsken VC investment branch.
In 2019, the foundation began operations in Kigali, Rwanda, planning to use it as a hub for investments across eastern and central Africa. In November, it closed its first African technology growth fund at $205 million.
The Norrsken Accelerator is now accepting applications worldwide for its 2024 cohort. The programme, which will run from July to September at Norrsken House, focuses on impact-driven projects with robust business models based on innovative technologies at the pre-seed stage.
Program participants will have 24/7 access to a workspace tailored to tech and impact entrepreneurs and receive personalized mentorship and expert advice designed to help them scale their businesses.
At the conclusion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their startups to hundreds of investors, potential partners, and clients at Norrsken Investor Day. The programme concludes with a celebration, but the relationship with Norrsken does not end there, as the platform continues to provide support, advice, investor, and partner connections.
Applications are open here until the end of April.
