Knit Technologies Limited, a Nigerian startup, has recently launched “Knit,” an event discovery and event listing app, different from just a platform for promoting events. According to Fela Bank-Olemoh, the Co-founder and Team Lead of the company, this app is set to transform the way people approach events not only in Nigeria and Africa but globally.
Here’s how Knit addresses various event planning and management challenges:
- Efficient Event Scheduling: Knit helps event organizers find the best days for their events by offering weather forecasts. This solves the problem of scheduling events on days with unfavorable weather conditions.
- Venue Selection: The app provides features for listing event facilities, making it easier for organizers to find suitable venues for their events.
- Social Networking for Event Enthusiasts: Knit offers social networking features, including chat, voice recording, and video sharing, allowing event lovers to connect, share their experiences, and communicate with like-minded individuals.
- Promoting Service Providers: The app enables service providers to present themselves as experts, showcase their skills and portfolios, and promote their services to a specific audience. This addresses the challenge of marketing services effectively in the events industry.
Fela Bank-Olemoh stated during the launch that Knit offers users the opportunity to discover and attend various local events, from concerts and festivals to workshops and meetups. Additionally, event organizers are equipped with the necessary tools to manage their events and sell tickets effectively.
Bank-Olemoh emphasised the mission of Knit, which goes beyond just events. The app aims to foster meaningful connections within local communities, allowing users to efficiently create or discover events, secure tickets, and establish valuable connections.
Fela Bank-Olemoh reportedly joined Knit Technologies Ltd as Team Lead in August 2023. He brings his expertise to manage the operations of FBO Training & Research Centre, an organisation with a focus on capacity building and training in Nigeria and Africa, particularly aimed at empowering young individuals.
With his background in fostering meaningful connections and his dedication to training and development, Bank-Olemoh’s role as the Team Lead at Knit Technologies Ltd is expected to further strengthen the company’s mission to streamline event planning and management while fostering community engagement through the Knit app.
The app was designed to address the pain points within the events industry, offering distinctive features like in-app social networking, weather forecasts for event organisers, and QR code integration.
