MTN has launched Cloud Services for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. MTN launched the trial of the cloud project in December 2012, targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and South Africa.
With this launch, MTN becomes the first telecommunications operator to offer Cloud services to SMEs in Nigerian.
According to Babatunde Osho, chief enterprise solutions officer, “It is a range of prepaid cloud-based services designed to offer Human Resource Management, Customer Relationship Management and other enterprise software over a secure internet connection. And this without any of the associated IT infrastructure costs.”
Osho reiterated that SMEs in Nigeria will now be able to enjoy enterprise solutions without the usual attendant cost.
Osho said technology has become a key differentiator and enabler for businesses and as such offerings like MTN Cloud Services can prove to be a critical success factor for SMEs due to their flexibility and pay-as-you-go cost structure.
