American YouTuber MrBeast, (real name Jimmy Donaldson) has now overtaken Bollywood music label T-Series to be the person with the most subscribers on YouTube. MrBeast made this announcement on his X page. For the past 6 years, the title belonged to T-series after it beat Felix Kjellberg, aka PewDiePie to the title.
Apparently when MrBeast posted the above information on his X page, this prompted a rush giving him 2 million more subscribers yesterday, which he said is a one-day record for the channel.
As at the time of writing this article 03 June 2024 (21:40 WAT), MrBeast has 270 million subscribers while T-series has 266 million subscribers.
In 2019, Donaldson went all out to support Kjellberg’s campaign to remain on top, covering every billboard in his town with ads promoting PewDiePie. He also made a memorable appearance at the Super Bowl, accompanied by friends wearing shirts that collectively spelled out “SUB 2 PEW DIE PIE.” Considering he gained 2 million subscribers yesterday — a number that took T-Series a month to achieve — it seems unlikely that T-Series will catch up.
Aged MrBeast is famous for his high-production videos featuring expensive challenges and giving away huge sums of money. He’s also involved in philanthropic endeavours like Team Trees, which raised over $23 million to plant trees. He recently turned 26 and on his birthday, he held a competition to give out 26 brand new Teslas.
MrBeast actually has several other YouTube channels besides his main one! He doesn’t just focus on those crazy giveaways and challenges. Here are a few of his other channels:
- Beast Philanthropy: This channel focuses on his charitable efforts, showcasing donations and initiatives he supports.
- MrBeast Gaming: This channel features gaming content, likely catering to a specific audience who enjoys watching him play games.
- Beast Reacts: This channel revolves around reaction videos, where MrBeast and his crew react to various online content.
- MrBeast 2 (formerly MrBeast Shorts): This channel focuses on shorter-form content, possibly bloopers, outtakes, or behind-the-scenes snippets from his main channel.
Elon Musk, who has urged MrBeast and other video creators to share their content on his platform X (formerly Twitter), was among those who congratulated him. MrBeast joined “X” in January 2024.
