LinkedIn has introduced a new feature that allows users to schedule posts to send at a later time.
According to TechCrunch, the Microsoft-owned platform has been testing the feature internally for some months, and is now ready to extend it beyond the special group of testers.
“We’re working to bring native post scheduling to members and pages soon. Stay tuned for updates on future rollout plans,” LinkedIn commented, in a statement to Social Media Today.
The new scheduling tool is built into the post composer box, with a new clock icon added to the bottom right of the window.
Once you click on the clock icon, you’d be presented with an option to choose a specific date and half-hourly slot that you want to schedule the post for.
Matt Navara, a social media consultant and renowned tipster, who was able to see the feature, confirmed it will be available on Android and web for now.
Before now, users depend on popular content management platforms such as Sprout social, Hootsuite, Buffer and Hubspot to schedule posts. The new update is therefore, a welcome addition seeing that it clear these third-party applications off the way.
Twitter, Facebook and Gmail have had a native scheduling feature for a while, making LinkedIn’s introduction of the feature late.
