Few months ago, Reseacher Salman Memon reported evidence of Instagram allowing selected users to use a new “Attach to Your Profile” option to pin Instagram posts to the top of their profiles. The Meta-owned app now says it is allowing everyone to pin up to three posts, which include photos or reel videos, to the top of their profile grid.
Instagram wants to give creators more ways to showcase their brands through the platform. This works just like the how users on Twitter or TikTok pin the posts they like on at the top of their feed. The idea is for you to keep your most desired or recent content fresh on the news feed so anyone can find it as they land on your page.
Now any user on Instagram can pin a post. Just open it, tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner and selecting ‘Pin to your profile’. The post will then show at the top of your profile’s grid. It is that simple, and Instagram says you can do that as from today.
Most users will appreciate the new feature because it allows them pin their favourite posts on instagram for followers to see. It also helps so that a specific video or picture don’t get lost on the grid. If you’re like most celebrities who post Reels frequently you can draw the attention of your followers to a particular post using the new “Pin to your profile”.
The ability to pin content to a user’s profile was previously limited to Stories, but with the introduction of this new feature, that limit will be removed. Users can now pin posts to their profiles. Previously, you could highlight a post in a Story and then pin that story to your profile, but this new feature makes the process more simpler and quicker.
Few days ago we reported Meta launched several features for its Reels products both on Facebook and Instagram. Among other things, it has added support for longer Instagram Reels of up to 90 seconds, up from the previous 60-second cap, and Sound Sync to Facebook Reels. In addition, the company has included a number of new interactive features, such as audio tools, templates, and more.
It will be interesting to see how these new features on both platforms help boost engagement as Meta continues to fight to stay on top of its rivalry, TikTok.
