The Irish Tech Challenge is calling on South African startups to participate in its 2024 edition. A joint initiative by the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa, the Department of Science and Innovation, the Technology Innovation Agency, Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Precinct, and Dogpatch Labs in Ireland, the challenge aims to bolster partnerships between South African and Irish startups.
With a focus on South Africa-owned tech startups that align with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, the challenge encourages applications particularly from sectors like clean and green technology, healthcare, education, and water sanitation and hygiene. The initiative is part of a broader mission to tackle global issues and drive economic growth and employment in South Africa.
Seven successful startups will receive benefits include a EUR10,000 grant, a curated trip to Ireland providing access to global customers and partners, top tech expertise, business acceleration, and exposure from combined support from both Irish and South African governments.
Applications are open here until April 26.
