High-impact South African entrepreneurs with aspirations to scale their solutions internationally have until Sunday, 5 May, to submit their entries for the Irish Tech Challenge.
The initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa, South Africa’s Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), and the Technology Innovation Agency, with execution by Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Precinct and Dogpatch Labs in Ireland.
Leveraging the success of its predecessors, the 2024 Irish Tech Challenge is set to propel the expansion of South African tech enterprises that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The challenge is open to companies specializing in areas such as green technology, healthcare, education, and water sanitation and hygiene, aiming to tackle significant global issues while promoting economic growth and job creation within South Africa.
Organizers highlight that startups participating in the Irish Tech Challenge will gain access to global networks, mentorship opportunities, and expertise in tech entrepreneurship.
The program will select seven businesses to receive €10,000 in grant funding, a 10-day immersive trip to Ireland designed to connect with international clients and partners, engagement with Irish tech specialists, and support for business growth.
