Ifeoma Nwobu, the co-founder and chief operating officer of Sendstack, has officially departed from the company, signaling yet another significant change at the Norrsken-backed logistics startup, which has undergone two major pivots in the last five months. While the company has confirmed her exit, it has chosen not to provide further details regarding the circumstances of her departure.
Nwobu’s exit comes at a critical juncture for Sendstack, as the company has set its most ambitious goal to date: achieving $1 million in revenue by 2025. This target represents a substantial increase, aiming for four times the revenue the company has generated over the past three years.
With Nwobu’s departure, Emeka Mba-Kalu, the CEO of Sendstack, will assume sole leadership of the small team, which consists of approximately five members. This team is currently navigating a series of strategic shifts that have characterized the company’s recent months. In October, Sendstack made the decision to shut down DLVR, its last-mile delivery aggregator, after three years of operation, citing challenges related to scalability. Following this, the company pivoted its focus towards fleet management services for corporate clients. More recently, Sendstack has transitioned from a software-only model to incorporating AirTag-like tracking devices into its offerings.
Prior to her tenure at Sendstack, Nwobu collaborated with Mba-Kalu at his now-defunct e-commerce venture, Scrader, which she has identified as a key inspiration for the founding of Sendstack. She initially joined Sendstack as the head of growth before taking on the roles of co-founder and COO in August 2021.
In her capacity at Sendstack, Nwobu was instrumental in overseeing operations and sales, and she played a vital role in shaping the company’s public image. She frequently represented Sendstack at various pitch and demo events, where her presentations garnered significant attention. Notably, her pitch at a 2023 demo day hosted by Norrsken, a well-known accelerator and one of Sendstack’s key backers, went viral, earning widespread acclaim for her clarity and conviction. Despite this, Sendstack has only managed to raise $350,000 from Norrsken, ODX, and a handful of angel investors.
Before venturing into the tech industry, Nwobu had a successful career as a supermodel for five years. She also previously founded Frugirls, a thrift fashion business. The specific reasons behind Nwobu’s departure from Sendstack remain unclear, and both she and CEO Mba-Kalu have opted not to comment on the circumstances surrounding her exit.
