How To Move Your WhatsApp Messages To Telegram

Have you tried to move your WhatsApp messages to Telegram ? You will agree that this can be overwhelming. However, there’s a feature that allows you to export your WhatsApp chats to Telegram.

The reason why Telegram is one of the leaders among other secure messaging apps is that it prioritises security as well as speed. To build a messaging app with high security, you should decide what encryption protocol to use. All messages sent through Telegram are encrypted by a combination of 256-bit symmetric AES encryption, 2048-bit RSA encryption, and Diffie-Hellman secure key exchange.

And so, migrating from WhatsApp might be a good option. But if for some reason you want to keep maintaining both, you will need to learn how to transfer messages from one to another. This is only possible with Telegram.

    For iOS users

    1. Open the WhatsApp app
    2. Open the ‘Contact info’ or ‘Group Info’ page, depending on the specific conversation or a group chat you wish to transfer.
    3. Tap ‘Export Chat’
    4. Select Telegram from the menu list that pops up.

    For Android users

    1. Open the WhatsApp chat you wish to transfer,
    2. Locate three dots in the upper-right corner,
    3. Tap ‘More,’
    4. Tap ‘Export Chat,’
    5. Select Telegram from the shared menu.

Note that all exported conversations from WhatsApp will appear in Telegram with the current day, but original timestamps for specific messages are still present.
