Today, Google has put up a Google Doodle to celebrate its 17th birthday. Google says you can see the doodle in several countries except some parts of South Africa and Asia and the United States of America. I wonder why.
Back to the question, “is September 27 really Google’s birthday?” This date has varied over the years. Since 2006, it has celebrated its birthday on September 27, but the year before that on its 7th birthday, it was September 26
On its 6th birthday, it was September 7 . The year before, it was September 8
Even Google admitted it had celebrated its birthday on four different dates, but it seems to have now stuck to September 27.
I wonder why it has chosen September 27. Maybe it is because this was the date for the first Google Doodle on Google’s 4th birthday.
For all its worth, Google has made itself part of our everyday life. Even though I was born before Google, I wonder how I lived without the great search engine. I must confess that Google has made life simpler with its great products such as Chrome, Adsense, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Drive, Google+, Blogger and many more.
Which Google products do you use?
Happy Birthday, Google.
