Flat6Labs, a top seed and early-stage venture capital firm in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), along with Organon, a healthcare firm focused on women’s health, have unveiled the second cycle of their collaborative project, the Women’s Health Accelerator Programme.
Flat6Labs, first introduced in Cairo in 2011, has established itself as an influential player in the technology startup scene through its various offices across the MENA region and beyond. To date, it has invested in over 100 technologically innovative startups and manages a plethora of seed funds, totaling an assets under management (AUM) value exceeding US$85 million.
Conversely, Organon is a spinoff of pharmaceutical giant Merck, recognized as MSD outside the United States and Canada, with a particular emphasis on boosting women’s health worldwide.
The second iteration of the Women’s Health Accelerator Programme follows the footsteps of its successful inaugural cycle. Its objective is to empower digital health startups that offer solutions to improve women’s health across the MENA region and Turkey.
This time, the accelerator programme will concentrate on three key areas impacting women’s health: family planning, fertility planning, and general women’s wellness. The chief goal of the program is to tackle the unique health challenges women face in the MENA region, aiming to provide enduring and viable solutions.
The program aspires to boost the growth of 15 startups, interact with diverse stakeholders, and help graduate startups that are primed for launch, ready to solve present-day challenges in women’s health. To enhance outreach, talent scouting, and selection, the program will also feature virtual and in-person community events, such as information sessions, roadshows, pitchathons, and webinars.
Applications are open here until May 16.
