WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook have been experiencing technical glitches for the better part of the day globally.

Users globally have complained of their apps failing to download or downright send any form of media. However the chats are active.

In some countries the three apps have been inactive for a little over an hour.

Facebook Inc., which owns all three services, said, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps,” the social media giant posted on Twitter, “We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”

We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We're sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #facebookdown

It is not yet known how long it will be before normalcy restored.
