Danfoss, a Danish energy solutions company, is expanding its operations in Kenya, a move that holds promising benefits for the East African nation. The company is focusing on establishing manufacturing facilities and has taken steps towards this goal.
Through strategic partnerships with Kenyan enterprises, collaborations with academic institutions, and internship initiatives to nurture local talent, Danfoss has been steadily building its presence in Kenya.
While already making progress in establishing local connections through partnerships, university collaborations, and talent development programs, Danfoss is now intensifying its commitment. The company is investing further in areas such as people development, enhancing partner capabilities, training contractors and installers, and providing robust customer support. This strategic approach is aimed at harnessing the emerging opportunities within Kenya’s energy sector.
Emil Berning, the Country Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at Danfoss, has revealed the company’s plan to expand its network of partners to enhance its local coverage across different regions and market segments.
Looking ahead to 2025, Berning emphasised the increasing power consumption by data centers, projected to account for one-fifth of the world’s power supply. This underscores the urgency of promoting data center sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. Notably, Danfoss Turbocor technology-equipped chillers and heat pumps can achieve up to 30 percent more efficient cooling for data centers compared to conventional compressors.
