This might just be the new Boom!, as Twitter is reportedly developing a series of new shopping tools that will finally provide a direct in-stream product listing associated with its app’s business profile. This, the Company, will launch to enable its users to both store and purchase product listings directly from a piece of content tweeted.
The above is a sample from a Twitter profile, Chris Floyd tweeted by a guy named Matt Navarra. As you can see there’s a new “Purchases” tab now appearing in some user’s Twitter functions listing. This new feature is currently linked to the launch of the Super Follow option and displays subscriptions or digital tickets purchased in the app. It also shows more possibilities for listing product purchases linked to Twitter’s broader e-commerce experiment.
When you click the “Purchases” tab, the app brings up a record of where you have paid subscriptions or tickets, and provides a record of digital items purchased. However, it is also the place where Twitter lists products purchased through the app. This isn’t an option yet, but it’s coming, as Twitter explained in its Analyst’s Day presentation in February.
Twitter product listings are currently being developed in many ways
First, is a new Professional Profiles display panel that Twitter is currently testing with a small group of US companies.
As shown in the above image, the professional’s profile contains additional business information for the brand above the tweet feed, App Store listing, image gallery, or a set of products in a Shop carousel (note also the ‘Shop All’ CTA above the main image feed).
In July, the company began live testing a new Shop module that allows users to scroll through a product carousel and touch a product to learn more and seamlessly shop from an in-app browser without leaving Twitter.
In addition to the new “Purchases” tab, this update represents the next stage of eCommerce on Twitter. Though it looks like a slow development, it’s really in full swing and all aspects have already been implemented live. This is a confirmation that there’s more to be anticipated from the micro-blogging site.
