Caketunes Aims To Help Nigerian Artists Produce And Distribute Their Music

Nigeria has quite a handful of talented and upcoming artists who are in search of platforms to produce and distribute their songs. Although there are so many music studios domiciled in the nooks and crannies of the country, these platforms are sceptical about giving young artists the opportunity to produce their songs.

Since technology is now influencing almost every facet of our lives, there is now music marketplace that can help you produce and distribute their songs.

One of such music marketplace is Caketunes.com. Caketunes is an online beat and music production platform co-founder by Ability Elijah.

According to Elijah, who is also the CEO, “Caketunes’ mission is to make music production seamless and affordable for all kind of artist as well as helping music-producers monetize their beat and skill easier and faster using the service.”

Speaking on they work with artists, Elijah said: “If an artist is not satisfied with the beats on our platform, he/she might just want to go ahead to order a custom beat service and subsequently proceed to having us finish up the whole production process (mixing and mastering and songwriting) by getting us to match their project to qualified music producers or songwriters.”

On what motivated him to float Caketunes, the CEO said: “I stumbled on producers who post free beats online in other to attract sales, contracts and meet a standard monthly earning. But for me, this is not the way to go because it exposes these producers to a high failure rate. So seeing this gap and the problem, I had to set up Caketunes after conducting exhaustive research.”

Every business has challenges. For Elijah, his startup has two major challenges which are capital and trust. He explained that some artists do not trust the platform. As such, some of these artists do not want to use their ATM cards on the platform. But this has not deterred them.
