Blueroomcare, a Nigerian mental health platform that offers insurance-covered therapy, has announced a strategic partnership with EHA Clinics to provide in-person therapy sessions in Abuja and Lagos. This collaboration aims to enhance accessibility to mental healthcare in Nigeria by bridging the gap between virtual and physical mental health services, thereby making professional support more readily available to local communities.
“Mental health is essential for overall well-being, and we’re excited to work with EHA Clinics to bridge the gap between virtual and in-person care,” stated Moses Aiyenuro, CEO of Blueroomcare. “This partnership underscores our commitment to making mental health services accessible to all.”
Under this partnership, individuals will have the option to schedule appointments through Blueroomcare’s website or visit EHA Clinics’ branches in Abuja and Lagos to book a session. The therapy sessions, which will occur weekly, are designed to provide clients with a safe and supportive environment to address their mental health needs.
The decision to introduce in-person mental health services stems from feedback from Blueroomcare’s growing online customer base, many of whom expressed a preference for both in-person and virtual care options. “Client feedback has been a key driver in our decision to expand into in-person care,” Aiyenuro explained. “Since launching our tele-mental health platform in 2022, one question has consistently surfaced: ‘Do you offer in-person care?’”
To better understand client preferences, Blueroomcare conducted a survey last year, which revealed that 57.75% of respondents favored a combination of virtual and in-person care. EHA Clinics will provide the necessary logistical support and facilities, while Blueroomcare will supply licensed therapists to ensure that clients receive high-quality, personalized care.
With mental health issues on the rise in Nigeria—where approximately 20% of the population experiences various forms of mental health challenges and 80% of those in need cannot access care due to resource shortages and societal stigma—this initiative is a timely response to the increasing demand for therapy services. Both organizations share a mission to promote holistic health and well-being, and this partnership is expected to set a precedent for expanding mental health care access across the country.
Aiyenuro emphasized that the choice of EHA Clinics as a partner was influenced by their commitment to community-focused healthcare and innovative wellness solutions. He noted that EHA Clinics has a strong network and a trusted reputation, making it the “ideal partner” for expanding mental health services and providing integrated care that supports both mental and overall well-being.
Blueroomcare operates as a text, video, or voice chat-based online therapy solution, connecting users with licensed therapists and mental health professionals. Since its launch in 2022, the platform has provided therapy services covered by insurance to over two million people across Africa. The partnership with EHA Clinics was initiated through Blueroomcare’s relationship with EHA Impact Ventures, which led a pre-seed funding round in Blueroomcare in 2024 to help expand its mental health services within Nigeria and beyond.
In addition to services in Abuja and Lagos, Blueroomcare has plans to extend mental health services to Nigerians in Kano, with future expansions into Rivers and Oyo States and other regions through potential partnerships. The platform aims to positively impact at least 3,000 individuals across Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and other locations within the first year of the partnership.
By incorporating in-person care into its offerings, Blueroomcare strengthens its role in enhancing mental health support in Nigeria. This partnership allows Blueroomcare to leverage EHA Clinics’ extensive network to bring mental health services closer to communities in need. “Embedding mental health services within primary healthcare settings helps normalize seeking support, reducing stigma, and encouraging early intervention,” Aiyenuro added.
As Blueroomcare continues to forge effective partnerships to expand mental healthcare access, it is on a path to achieving its long-term goal of providing “quality, affordable mental health services to a billion lives.”
