Despite reports of the Canadian phone company moving away from the hardware business, the company’s upcoming Blackberry DTEK70 just got leaked. Well, it doesn’t look like the smartphone maker is giving up anytime soon, and the device is really gaining grounds. Recently, the company announced it would soon switch to a business model having other manufacturers design its phones but BlackBerry will provide the brand, security software and the chips.
The DTEK70 is a mid-range smartphone and is codenamed as ‘Mecury’, sporting a QWERTY physical keyboard with a slick design. The pictures below shows what it could be in appearance.
The DTEK70 sports a 4.5” HD display with an 8 MP front camera, an 18 MP rear camera, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage. Further, it is also likely to ship with a touch-enabled keyboard, similar to that of the Passport and Priv. And this will be first Blackberry Android Phone with the same feature.
Leaked images also showed that the device may incorporate a fingerprint sensor as part of the spacebar adding to the convenience of the users. Although the BlackBerry’s DTEK 60 missed the Android 7.0 Nougat but it is possible the DTEK70 will run on Nougat straight out of the box, when it is released in the first quarter of 2017.
