Bharti Airtel today announced the appointment of Justice Alfa Belgore (Rtd) as the chairman of the board of directors of Airtel Nigeria.
Justice Alfa Belgore, a former chief justice of the Republic of Nigeria, is one of the most respected legal professionals in Nigeria, having served as a magistrate in Northern Nigeria and chairman of several high level tribunals and commissions of inquiry in the country.
Commenting on the appointment, Christian de Faria, CEO – Airtel Africa said, “We are pleased to have Alfa Belgore on the Board. His wealth of experience will add immense value to the Board and provide strategic guidance to our Nigeria operations.”
Justice Alfa Belgore served from 1986 as a key member in the technical committee on law, justice and development in Africa and also sat at the governing council of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and National Archives and in 1992 as the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
