Nigerian startups and entrepreneurs in Fintech with innovative and digital solutions that can revolutionalize commercial transactions and ease the operations of SME in Nigeria can now apply for the 2017 startup challenge bankrolled by the Central Bank of Nigeria. The challenge is part of the CBN’s Cashless Card Expo.
The Card Expo Conference which will hold in Lagos between June 13 and 15, 2017 will shortlist 30 startups from all the received applications after a 60-second video pitch of their Fintech ideas. These 30 startups will further be pruned down to 10 and they will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas at the Card expo.
The Fintech Challenge is in 3 phases
Entry
- This is open to all. Register online and when you get a confirmation email, proceed to make a 60-seconds video pitching your fintech innovation. The video should address SME challenges that the innovation seeks to address. It will be shared across social media with the #CardExpo2017 and #FintechChallenge,
Shortlisting
- The top 30 applicants will be invited to post a one-minute pitch video on social media and from there 10 finalists with the highest social media shares will be invited for a panel demonstration at the grand finale at CardExpo2017
The Challenge
- The final pitch session will hold on the sidelines of the CardExpo conference for the 10 finalists and 3 winners will emerge. The three winners will win N500, 000 cash prizes and an incubation opportunity with a top innovation hub in Nigeria.
