Users learn the basics of programming by moving a character with code, solving puzzles and accomplishing goals, it’s more like a game but a game which you would actually learn something from. Apple also showed how users could move a character and pick up gems in a simplified way to teach the basics of code.
Swift Playgrounds also comes with advanced coins which is called “Physics Emoji”, where emojis move on the screen based on code that modifies virtual gravity on the screen. A new coding keyboard is also available for Swift Playgrounds, offering easy access to the letters and symbols coders are most likely to use.
Users can also take advantage of built-in templates to create real programs that can be shared with friends and online. Educators meanwhile can use Xcode to create their own challenges for students in the app.
Swift Playgrounds will roll out with iOS 10 which will be available in the iOS App Store for free. The app is currently available to developers as a beta for testing, and the public beta is set to launch in July.
