Angela Nwanodu, the Public Relations Officer of the state government, disclosed this significant development. The esteemed companies involved in this collaboration include Google, Meta, Amazon Web Services, Dell, and several others.
This strategic alliance was formalised during a weekend meeting at the US Consulate General in Lagos. The state’s delegation, led by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, engaged in strategic discussions with William Stevens, the U.S. Consul-General, and influential leaders from the 26 renowned U.S. high-tech companies.
The primary objective of the meeting was to explore avenues for collaboration, establish corporate alliances, and foster technological partnerships aimed at accelerating Anambra State’s growth. The meeting served as an opportunity to enhance strategic partnerships for economic development and the exchange of technologies, fostering shared prosperity between Anambra State, its tech companies, and their counterparts in the United States.

The delegation also showcased the government’s strategic plan to build a state where the tech ecosystem thrives.
Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata highlighted key initiatives driving tech revolutions within the state, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to establishing the state as a thriving hub for digital transformation and innovation.
The U.S. high-tech companies participating in the discussions expressed eagerness to support Anambra State in diverse capacities. The statements issued underscored that these commitments are preliminary and subject to further discussions and fine-tuning by both the Anambra State Government and these tech industry giants. The aim is to translate these commitments into impactful projects that will bring about lasting positive change for the people of Anambra.
These strategic alliances signal a significant milestone in Anambra State’s journey toward becoming a technology-driven hub, aligning seamlessly with Governor Soludo’s commitment to transforming the state into the digital and creative capital of Nigeria. The partnerships forged with these leading industry giants are poised to catalyze innovation, economic growth, and societal development within the state.
Governor Soludo, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the willingness of the U.S. companies to support Anambra’s technological advancement. He emphasized the state’s commitment under his watch to creating a conducive environment for collaboration and a thriving ecosystem for innovation.
In addition to these collaborative efforts, the Anambra government has been actively transforming the state through the achievement of notable tech milestones under the ICT Agency’s instrumentality. The government is committed to advancing technology in line with the vision of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
One such milestone is the state’s Internship/Volunteers Partnership Programme, tailored for ICT undergraduates and skilled IT professionals. This initiative aims to foster talent development, knowledge exchange, and provide a valuable platform for participants to gain hands-on experience.
The program has already resulted in tangible outcomes, such as the creation of Electronic Identity Cards (E-ID Cards) for civil servants in the state, reducing issues of identity theft, impersonation, and providing robust authentication channels for government personnel.
