Ampion is partnering with Merck Group to launch the 1st eHealth Accelerator in Africa. This was announced at a press conference in Nairobi, Kenya today.
Disrupt Africa reports that the accelerator will operate out of Nairobi, Kenya, and will provide selected startups with customised support from Merck Headquarters’ Innovation Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, as well as mentorship and the potential to secure pilots and synergies with key global players.
According to Alexander Hoffmann, Merck project manager, “The launch of the first healthcare accelerator in Africa is designed to be a major boost to healthcare innovation on the continent. Africa has many of the fastest growing technology markets worldwide.”
The eHealth accelerator will start accepting applications as from September 1 on a rolling basis, with an expected residency period of between three and six months for each portfolio company.
