10 Apps That Allow You Send And Reply SMS and Texts From Your Computer

Not so long ago, you had to pick up your phone before responding to text a friend (even to write a message). You can now do this while on your computer.

There aren’t many apps that can do this, but the ones available are actually pretty good. Here are the best apps to send texts and SMS from your computer, not your phone. You can test a few of them to see which suit your style and work productivity. If you’re using a Windows or Android PC the “Microsoft Your Phone” app could be a best match.

The best apps for sending texts and sms from a computer

    Join

Join is one of the newest options for sending texts and SMS from your computer. Just install the app on your phone then install the extension in the browser. In addition to sending texts and SMS, the app can also display notifications, share clipboards between devices, access Tasker and Google Assistant, send files, take screenshots, set wallpapers, and share location. It is also one of the few products that offers a one-time price after a 30-day free trial.

    Pushbullet

Pushbullet is still one of the best ways to send texts and SMS from your computer. It uses the usual browser extension method alongside the app which you must install on your phone. Besides sending text messages, you can send files, view notifications, and more. You can use this service for free. This limits you to 100 texts per month. When you upgrade to an expert subscription, all restrictions are removed.

    AirDroid

AirDroid is a popular name in the Tech space when it comes to Text messaging. Apart from sending SMS, it can also transfer files, backup and sync, manage contacts, and save screenshots of your computer. It’s a powerful app that can do great things. The premium version is a very affordable subscription model. With this you can transfer larger files, transfer entire folders, transfer unlimited files, and more.

    Microsoft Your Phone

The Microsoft Your Phone app works best with Microsoft Windows and Android phones. To be able to use it, you need to install the PC version along with the phone version. Typically, this application allows you to view your camera roll, notifications, and text messages on your computer. It is a fairly complete app in terms of features and functionality, although it does have connectivity issues at times. Anyone with a Windows computer should check it out first, especially since it’s completely free.

    MightyText

This is a popular option for many. It does basic tasks including displaying notifications, sending texts, sending MMS, and fun tasks like low battery alerts. The free version of MightyText app allows you to send 250 SMS per month. The Pro version is a $ 6.99 / month subscription service that removes text restrictions, displays real-time notifications, and offers many more features. This is not the cheapest option. However, it is quite stable.

    mysms

Though not as well known as some other apps, mysms is still one of the best ways to send texts and SMS from your computer. This claim to prominence is that no browser extension is required to function. It has native apps for iOS, Android, Microsoft Windows, iPad, macOS, and Chrome extensions if you’d like to use it.

    Pulse SMS

Pulse SMS is a functional application that works as a standalone SMS app. You can also switch to the multi-device SMS app using a browser or an online messaging extension. You can do all the basics. This includes replies to text messages and MMS. You can also reject list numbers, schedule messages, archive calls, and even support dual SIM.

    TextFree

TextFree is a web app. Meaning, it can be accessible from any browser that allows you to send free text messages to anyone. However, you cannot do this with your own phone number. The app provides you with a random phone number that you can use to send messages to people. Messaging is free, but you have to pay a few minutes to call someone using this service.

    TextNow

TextNow is very similar to Text Free. Unfortunately, it provides you with a random number, just like Text Free. This means that you cannot use yours.

    Screen Mirroring Apps

Screen mirroring is a quick and dirty way to send text from your computer. Basically, you use one of these apps to connect your device to your computer. The texts come straight from your device, not through the service. However, you need to turn on the phone, get the correct drivers, and run the related software. This is not the easiest solution. However, it is one of the most secure apps and is fully compatible with all types of messaging apps like WhatsApp, SMS or Google Hangouts.

    Try these best screen mirroring apps;

    • Chrome Remote Desktop
    • Remote Desktop 8
    • TeamViewer Remote Control
    • Your Phone Companion – Link to Windows
