Zuri Health, a Kenyan health-tech firm, has teamed up with Expresso Senegal to commence its operations in the country. Expresso Senegal is a Senegalese telecommunications firm that offers 4G internet, SMS, and voice services, as well as business and roaming solutions, and is a subsidiary of the Expresso Telecom corporation.
“This is with great pleasure that Expresso Senegal and Zuri Health are releasing the health app Zuri Health in collaboration,” said Radi Almamoun, Expresso Senegal’s Acting CEO.
“This is a significant advancement in the Senegalese healthcare ecosystem, enabling our organization to once again contribute to the solution of the population’s difficulties in obtaining assistance and referrals from a first-resort physician.”
Zuri Health believes that by merging technology and healthcare, they will be able to provide value throughout the supply chain. An Expresso subscriber in Senegal just texts a phrase 28008 to activate the service and begin texting and conversing with a doctor. Patients will receive prompt and dependable responses from qualified doctors, as well as cost-effective healthcare and secure personal health information.
The majority of Senegalese users who do not have access to internet-connected devices or cellphones will now be able to receive first-level medical advice from qualified medical doctors via SMS.
“We are quite pleased to have Expresso Senegal as our telecommunications partner in Senegal. At Zuri Health, we have recognized Africa’s unique issues and provided medical consultation via SMS service to the over 65 percent of the population who do not have access to cellphones or the internet,” remarked Founder Ikechukwu Arthur Anoke.
“Patients may now get medical advice for as little as 30 CFA francs. “Partnering with Expresso Senegal is a vital component of our mission to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare.”
Zuri Health, situated in Nairobi, Kenya, uses a mobile app, website, and SMS to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to disenfranchised people in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is performed through the use of a large database of medical experts, pharmacies, laboratories, and diagnostic centers.
