African insurtech startups are presented with an opportunity to secure funding ranging from $100,000 to $1 million through the ZEP-RE InsurTech Programme 2.0. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the reinsurance firm ZEP-RE and Westerwelle Startup Haus Kigali, marking the programme’s second iteration.
The ZEP-RE InsurTech Programme is set to host 25 startups in a three-month hybrid acceleration programme, which will include an intensive investment readiness bootcamp in Kigali, Rwanda, with all expenses covered. This bootcamp is designed to prepare the startups for the culmination of the programme—a pitch competition.
During this competition, the top 10 startups will showcase their innovations, and the top five will have the chance to receive investment from the ZEP-RE Insurtech Fund. The funding available for each of the top five startups will vary between $100,000 and $1 million, offering significant financial support to propel their growth and development in the insurtech sector.
