Users can now access YouTube TV on Playstation 4, making it the first third-party live TV subscription to launch on Sony’s game console.
Since Sony launched the PlayStation Vue service, the company has kept competitors such as Sling TV, YouTube TV, and Hulu’s live TV service off of the PS4.
However, reports say PlayStation Vue is closing at the end of this month, hence the hands of generosity extended to other options on its platform.
Last year, Sony said, “Unfortunately, the highly competitive pay-TV industry, with expensive content and network deals, has been slower to change than we expected.
“Because of this, we have decided to remain focused on our core gaming business,”
Users can now download YouTube TV from the PlayStation Store right now. Not surprising though, new customers are eligible for a free trial of the $50-per-month service.
Also, there isn’t much difference for those who have used YouTube TV on other devices, the experience on PS4 should be the same.
