The first ever YouTube Music Awards takes place today (November 3) at 6p.m. (12 midnight West African Time). Actor Jason Schwartzman will host the awards show, which will include guest performances by Eminem, Lady Gaga and Arcade Fire, among others.
Google’s YouTube made the announcement about the music awards celebration on the 1st of October and announced the nominees on the 21st of October. (See below)
“The whole night is supposed to feel like a YouTube video — the raw messiness of making stuff,” Jonze said. “My disclaimer is that none of us have ever done this before. There’s bound to be a bit of a mess, hopefully in the best way, sometimes like YouTube videos are.
