24 year old Onyeulo Kelechi will be representing Nigeria at the Young Chef Olympiad 2016 taking place in India.
Onyeulo is currently a student of Culinary Academy, a hospitality consulting, lifestyle, recreational, and academic organization founded by Ms. Tiyan Alile who has a great passion to educate people and promote the Culinary Arts.
This is the second edition of the Young Chef Olympiad. It is a platform which gives culinary students the opportunity to learn, teach, network with the best culinary schools worldwide. This edition brings the best culinary talent from across 67+ different nations to India for a Grand Finale to be held in Kolkata on 1st February, 2016.
Young Chefs from 67+ nations after getting selected, will fly down to India on 26th January to represent their country in a cook-off that will last 4 days starting 29th January to 1st February. The results will be collated and the Grand Finale is scheduled on Monday 1st February 2015 at Kolkata.
50+ Countries have confirmed their participation and 20 more are in process of confirmation.
The winner stands to win the First prize of $ 10,000 USD.
Nigeria is one of the eight African teams scheduled to compete in this event. Others include South Africa, Uganda, Seychelles, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mauritius and Egypt
