Popular Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade launched an Android app on the Play Store, yesterday, December 9, 2015.
The singer excitedly announced to her 322,000 Instagram followers, “No need to use up your data anymore…with this app..you might just catch me in the bathroom it’s personal like that! !its NOT the usual Download now”

The app which is available exclusively to Android, features links to Yemi Alade’s social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google+) which open in an in-app browser, but unfortunately do not provide the full interaction the respective social media channels can provide.
There is also a music tab which currently features her latest single, Do As I Do, available for full streaming. Other music from the songstress are available on the Discography section of the app for purchase with 30 seconds preview on offer. The app also has a Store option which duplicates the function of the Discography tab, where her debut album King of Queens is available for purchase. Unfortunately, the in-app purchases do not take advantage of Google Play’s transaction services, but rely on only PayPal, and debit cards.
Yemi Alade releasing an app for her works is becoming part of a global trend by celebrities to release apps that help their fans connect easier with them. Nigerian rapper, Lynxxx also has an Android app called Lynxxxtionary app in 2013, and earlier this year the Kardashian-Jenner family (the royals of reality television) released subscription based apps that offers behind-the-scenes visuals of their lives and other exclusives.
