Xiaomi has just released a budget phone known as the RedMi pro and it is selling for 1,499 yuan which is about $225. The budget phone was launched at a special event in Beijing today and it is said that Redmi Pro will the new flagship smartphone in Xiaomi’s budget Redmi series.
The Xiaomi RedMi pro is a dual camera phone with a 13 megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor camera on top for still images, and a 5 megapixel Samsung sensor rear camera for depth on the bottom.
The smartphone has a 5.5-inch full HD OLED display, 4050mAh battery, a front fingerprint sensor and an Aluminium design with CNC chamfered edges.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro runs the MediaTek’s Helio X25 chipset with 10-cores (Two A72 cores), which is clocked at 2.5 Ghz and has a Mali T880 GPU for more efficient gaming. There’s also a version with MediaTek Helio X20 processor.
Pricing starts at RMB 1999 for the high-end 4GB RAM+128GB version costs RMB 1999, while the 3GB RAM+64GB version is priced at RMB 1699. The 3GB RAM+32GB version with MediaTek Helio X20 processor starts at RMB 1499.
Redmi Pro will come in Gold, Silver, Dark Grey.
It goes on sale in China on August 6.
