X (formerly Twitter) has announced a major restructuring of its verified program for businesses and governments, introducing two new premium tiers — Premium Business and Premium Organizations — in a move aimed at redefining how companies and institutions grow their presence on the platform.
According to the company, Premium Business is designed for startups, SMEs, and large corporations, offering a gold checkmark, improved visibility, and access to growth-focused tools. Meanwhile, Premium Organizations—geared towards governments and multilateral institutions—will retain the grey checkmark, signaling authenticity and authority.
The new structure introduces three pricing tiers under Premium Business:
- Basic ($200/month): Includes essential tools to establish a business presence on X.
- Full Access ($1,000/month): Offers affiliate badges, faster support, impersonation defense, priority handles, and early access to new features.
- Enterprise (custom pricing): Comes with advanced tools, dedicated account management, and strategic support tailored to large-scale operations.
Premium Business subscribers will also gain access to SuperGrok, X’s AI-powered tool for real-time insights, as well as features for hiring, industry monitoring, and handle acquisition. Businesses can soon explore a marketplace for inactive “high-value handles,” some offered free and others available for purchase.
Seth Fuchs of X Engineering emphasized that the update is part of X’s broader vision to empower organizations on the platform.
“We’re building for organizations that want to move fast, stay relevant, and grow directly on the world’s town square,” said Fuchs. “And we’re just getting started.”
The overhaul marks X’s latest attempt to revive its subscription revenue stream amid declining ad sales, positioning Premium Business as a new growth channel for companies seeking influence and visibility in the digital public square.
