WumDrop, Fargo and Crew Pencil emerged as winners in the Cape Town edition of the Seedstars World competition.
WumDrop is a delivery service company while Fargo is a convenient logistic solution that lets customers collect & return their parcels at a local store when it suits them best. Crew Pencil is an online crew booking and diary service for the film industry – diary, bookings & invoicing all in one.
With this win, these three startups will now advance to the South African grand final in Johannesburg on June 30.
This year, Seedstars world is back to South Africa with a bigger event that will find the best startups from Capetown, Durban, Soweto and Johannesburg. The winning startup will join the global Seedstars Family and take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits
Other finalists were Air SME, Carerott, Farmboek, BriteCap, The Student Hub, Tribal Tourist and iMobiMaMa.
The event took place at Workshop 17, 17 Dock Rd, V & A Waterfront, Cape Town, 8002.
South African mobile recruitment platform, Giraffe, was named the overall winner of last year’s competition, taking home US$500,000 in investment.
