The websites of big companies like Twitter, SoundCloud, Spotify, Netflix, GitHub and Amazon amongst many other suffered a major Distributed Denial-Of-Service attack today.

According to Hacker News, a “Massive Dyn DNS outrage” caused Twitter, Amazon, Vox Media, Reddit, Airbnb, Etsy, Github, SoundCloud and Spotify to go offline.
In addition, it is not only websites in the United States were affected. “Outages are being reported across the world, with the east coast of American particularly affected, although Chinese and European users have also noted drops in service according to reports
While some of them are back online others are yet to come back online. These blue chip companies which are some of the biggest in the world were despite their seemingly impregnable cyber security.
For now, no-one has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.
