The South African organization WomHub, which champions female empowerment, has joined forces with the Visa Foundation to introduce the ‘STEM is Everywhere’ programme. This initiative is specifically tailored to nurture and bolster early-stage female entrepreneurs operating in STEM-related fields, including Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mining and Manufacturing.

As a prominent entity focused on the advancement of women and girls within STEM disciplines, WomHub leverages education, mentorship, and support to foster a more diverse and inclusive environment within the engineering and technology sectors.

The ‘STEM is Everywhere’ programme is set to equip female business owners with a suite of business tools, personalized coaching, and privileged access to WomHub’s expansive innovation and technological hubs and networks. The collaboration between WomHub and the Visa Foundation is driven by a shared commitment to bridging the gender divide and maximizing the untapped potential of female entrepreneurs in the South African context.

Anjani Harjeven, the CEO of WomHub, expressed that this initiative is perfectly in sync with the organization’s overarching goal of empowering women and girls in STEM by dismantling obstacles and paving the way for a new cadre of female leadership. The programme anticipates extending support to an estimated 100 entrepreneurs within South Africa, marking a significant step towards gender parity in the STEM industry.
