Amy Muoneke, Chief Executive Officer of bus.com.ng, a startup owned by Spark.ng has revealed that since its launch in June last year, the platform has made it easier for prospective travelers to buy bus tickets without spending long hours on queues as it used to be before.
She told Innovation Village that the platform has made it possible for intending passengers to book and pay for tickets from the comfort of their homes.
“We create the convenience of booking and paying for bus travel ticket at the comfort of ones office, home etc. Booking through us alleviates the traditional stress associated with bus travel ticket purchase, where the customer has to get to the bus park at least 2-3 hours early to queue in line without any guarantee of buying a travel ticket,” she said.
According to her, payments for travels could now be made via various options.
She said: “We offer a variety of payment options to customers, they can use either of the following: (1) Bank Deposit with three bank options (2) Cash on Delivery – we send our dispatch rider to collect the payment (3) Interswitch / Online transfer (4) payment at any PAGA agent location.”
Most visits to the site, she said, are from desktop computers and there are no plans to introduce apps.
“We have an efficient and easy url, so apps is not in the discussion for now,” she said.
She also revealed plans to extend operations from 4 additional locations.
“Currently we only offer outbound trips from Lagos to over 200 destinations, but in a couple weeks we are launching operations from four (4) additional States in the country,” she told Innovation Village.
