TECNO Telecom Limited has announced it is giving prizes to winners of its apps developers’ challenge today in Lagos. In an exclusive chat with Innovation Village correspondent, the company’s deputy general manager for Nigeria, Mr. Chidi Okonkwo said the selected winners got the highest number of apps downloads.
According to him, the young Nigerian developers uploaded their apps on the company’s apps stores.
“We are honoring some young Nigerian app developers. They developed some appsp which we deployed to TECNO app store,” Okonkwo said. He added: “We have already selected winners and we have invited them to the awards ceremony today. We are expecting the winners, the media and some of our partners.”
TECNO, according to him, decided to sponsor the challenge because it would encourage Nigerian app developers and inspire young Nigerians to attain greater heights.
He said: “TECNO wants to use this challenge to encourage and inspire Nigerians. We want to be associated with things that will develop Nigerian youths. Projects like this will also help to promote our brand in the country.”
