Google publicly announced a Windows 10 bug that hackers are exploiting right now and Microsoft is not very happy with Google for doing that. Microsoft does not have a patch for this Windows 10 bug just yet. Windows 10 Anniversary Update is not affected by the vulnerability.
Tech companies tend to have this understood agreement between one another that when a flaw is found. They tell the companys’ security team privately, thereby giving the company time to fix it. Because advertising the security flaw before a fix, invites more hackers to take advantage of the bug.
In a blog post, Google said it did give Microsoft 10 days to do something about the security flaw. And since Microsoft hasn’t taken any action on patching the bug, Google decided to put this out to the public because hackers are already taking advantage of the flaw.
Some experts argued that 10 days is not enough time to patch bugs with something complex like an operating system. Microsoft commented in a statement to Venturebeat, saying Google’s actions could put Microsoft customers at potential risk.
The bug also involves Adobe flash, although Adobe patched the problem on its end. And you can protect yourself by updating your Adobe flash software.
Microsoft will be issuing a patch for this vulnerability on November 8. So until Microsoft releases a fix for this security flaw, Windows 10 users are still susceptible to attacks.
