If the New York Times report is to be reckoned with, Apple might unveil two iPhones tomorrow instead of one. The report highlights that the Cupertino based company will be introducing a new iPhone with a faster processor, along with another model that will be sold at a lower cost. This will be the first time the company is introducing two phones at once.
Apple’s invitation to an event at its Cupertino headquarters on Tuesday promises to “brighten everyone’s day”. Shown via satellite link in Europe it will, for the first time, also be shown to a select group of guests in China.
It seems that the one with the faster processor will be the flagship model, iPhone 5S while the cheaper one, iPhone 5C.
Just wondering why Apple would be releasing a cheap iPhone as this does not conform to its brand identity. Well, Apple has neither confirmed nor debunked the news. Though it might be possible that the introduction of the cheaper iPhone would coincide with an expected partnerhsip deal with China Mobile, which has about 700 million subscribers. Apple aims to increase its revenue and getting a percentage of China Mobile’s customers would translate to millions of iphone sales.
We only have a day to wait.
