Nigerian cloud infrastructure company, WhoGoHost, has completed the full acquisition of SendChamp, a cloud communications startup specializing in online messaging solutions for African businesses. The acquisition, which encompasses both cash and equity components, represents a strategic move by WhoGoHost to enhance its value proposition to its customer base.
Established in 2021 by Goodness Kayode and Damilola Olotu, SendChamp enables businesses to send and receive customer messages across multiple channels, including SMS, WhatsApp, email, and voice. In the same year, SendChamp raised $100,000 in funding. The alignment of SendChamp’s vision with WhoGoHost’s strategic goals underscores the importance of enabling entrepreneurs and businesses to establish an online presence and communicate effectively.
As part of the acquisition, SendChamp’s CEO, Kayode, and CTO, Olotu, will assume new roles within WhoGoHost. Kayode will serve as Chief Product Officer, while Olotu takes on the position of Chief Technology Officer.
During a transition period, SendChamp will continue to operate as an independent product. Subsequently, its services will be seamlessly integrated into the WhoGoHost platform. SendChamp will eventually adopt the WhoGoHost company name, becoming “SendChamp by WhoGoHost.”
This strategic partnership offers a symbiotic relationship, enabling customers of both companies to access an expanded range of services. WhoGoHost’s offerings, including domains, backups, security, and hosting, will be accessible to SendChamp’s customers, while WhoGoHost’s customer base can leverage SendChamp’s products encompassing SMS, emails, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and customer support solutions. The integration is expected to enhance the overall customer experience for entrepreneurs and businesses across Africa.
Opeyemi Awoyemi, the founder of WhoGoHost, sees the acquisition of SendChamp as an opportunity to transform the company into a comprehensive digital services provider for African entrepreneurs and businesses, extending beyond its core domain hosting services. This strategic move aligns with WhoGoHost’s mission to become a one-stop shop for digital solutions in the African market, further solidifying its position in the industry following previous acquisitions, including TheExpertHost and iHost Africa in 2016.
