All I can think about is the Android 5.0 update. I keep checking online to see if it is available for my Samsung Galaxy S4 and since my phone is rooted, I keep checking for the root as well. I did an extensive search on when he major manufacturers will be rolling out updates for their devices, and this is what I came up with.
Nexus
Software updates always start with the Nexus and as such, the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Wi-Fi version of the Nexus 7 have the update. Google announced that the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 will be updated to Android 5.0 in “the coming weeks.”
Google Play Edition
Google also announced that its Google Play Edition devices will also see an update to Android 5.0 in the coming weeks. The company didn’t mention specific devices, which could mean that all of them will be seeing the update. Current Google Play Edition devices include the Moto G and HTC One M8, while Google previously offered the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One (M7), Sony Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3 on the Play store.
HTC
HTC announced previously that it will begin rolling out the Android 5 update for the HTC One M8 and M7 worldwide “within 90 days of receiving final software from Google,” which should be around February 2015.
On November 4, HTC announced via its Twitter account that it has now got the Android 5.0 Lollipop code and that it will make good on its promise.
Samsung
According to Sam Mobile – a popular, reliable source for everything Samsung – the Samsung Galaxy S5 could be in for an Android Lollipop release in December 2014. Depending on carrier networks, this might be available for some by January.
The Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 3 are also likely to get the update very shortly after it launches, probably within the same sort of several month timeframe as HTC is operating under. It is also under speculation that the update will be available for the S4 as well
Motorola
Motorola announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop will be coming to various devices later this year. Motorola plans to update both the first- and second-generation Moto X and Moto G, along with the Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini.
A more recent blog post has announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop has begun rolling out to second generation Moto X and Moto G devices in the US.
Meanwhile, the good folk at Motorola have launched a helpful website where you can track when your handset will get updated to Android 5.0, which is being constantly updated with information about the upgrade process.
LG
The LG 3 is going to receiving the Android 5.0 update sometime between late November and early December, according to Dutch website, TechTastic. We expect to see it on the LG G3 and G2 Pro, and quite possibly the G2 and original G Pro.
Sony
Sony announced that it will be “bringing Android 5.0 Lollipop to the entire Xperia Z Series. The company published a full list of the handsets which are in line for Android Lollipop, which are;
Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
However, Sony is yet to reveal a specific date the update will be available
