Last week, WhatsApp for Android received its much-anticipated worldwide media player, and now the Meta-owned messaging giant is aiming to add a new “App language” choice to its app. It will allow users to manually change the app’s language to their preferred language without having to modify their device’s system language.
WhatsApp will get a “App Language” setting in the near future
WhatsApp’s latest beta build on Android (v2.22.8.3) revealed that the firm may soon allow Android users to manually change the app language via a new “App language” feature, according to a recent report from the credible WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo.
WhatsApp presently supports 60 worldwide languages on Android, and when users set up the program for the first time, it automatically selects the system language. Users will be able to manually change the language of the app via its settings, rather than changing the language of their device, thanks to the new App language setting.
This functionality is similar to per-app language settings, which is one of Android 13’s important innovations. Android users can utilize the system settings to alter the language of individual apps. Although the feature is operational as of Android 13’s newest developer preview, it still needs a few tweaks.
According to the article, the function is presently in development on WhatsApp, and the business plans to offer it in a future update.
