Earlier this year, Facebook-owned messaging service, WhatsApp added a new feature to its service which allowed its users sync their accounts using its website app. This service has been available on all platforms for a while now, leaving iOS users out from enjoying this feature due to its platform’s limitations.
WhatsApp has just added iOS to the platforms supported by its web app, which will now allow iPhone users sync their accounts and chat through WhatsApp Web but this feature isn’t available to everyone at the moment, so you’d have to be a bit patient because it is still gradually rolling out to iPhone users in the app’s latest update.
The update appears to be a server-side change, meaning you don’t necessarily need to update the app, that is if you have the latest version installed already. WhatsApp Web appears to only function in the browser when WhatsApp on the iPhone is actively running.
The WhatsApp Web feature can be setup in the iOS app’s settings and by also visiting web.whatsapp.com with Google Chrome.
