WhatsApp announced that it is rolling out the ability to pin chats within one-on-one and group conversations. This means that you should be able to pin a poll, a picture, or even a video to remind yourself of things that matter to you.
Users can only pin one chat at a time. However you can pin a message for up to 30 days. Two other options – 24 hours, 7 days (which is the default option) – are also available
This feature comes in handy, especially when visiting a friend’s home for the first time. They can pin their address in the chat for your convenience. In group chats, it allows for sharing specific details about an event or location, serving as a reference for rules or essential information.
The company has stated that in group chats, administrators can decide whether only admins or any member can pin a message.
Competing messaging platforms like Telegram and iMessage already provide users with the option to pin messages in both individual and group conversations.
