WhatsApp rolls out convenient new feature for adding and editing Contacts

WhatsApp, the widely adored instant messaging app, continuously strives to enhance its user experience. The developers prioritise keeping the app ahead of its competitors, making it increasingly useful for everyone.

The company has recently introduced a new feature to simplify the process for users. Previously, when saving a person’s phone number, it would not instantly appear in your WhatsApp contact list. Typically, users needed to open the app and refresh their contact list to find the new addition.

While WhatsApp previously attempted to resolve this issue, automatic syncing between your contact list and the app doesn’t always work. Occasionally, manual refreshing is still required to locate new contacts in your WhatsApp list.

Now, with a new update, WhatsApp is addressing this issue once and for all. According to WABetaInfo, the immensely popular instant messaging app is incorporating a new feature that enables users to add new contacts directly within the app. Furthermore, users can modify or edit contacts from within the WhatsApp platform.

Named “Manage Contacts”, this new feature streamlines contact management and is currently available to select beta testers. It is expected to roll out to more users in the coming weeks.

Previously, a shortcut existed for adding contacts in WhatsApp, but it only redirected users to their device’s contact management. The new feature allows users to add and edit their contacts without leaving the WhatsApp app.

To check the availability of this feature, users can open Contacts in WhatsApp, select Options, and then choose New Contact. If the feature is available, users will see a new method for adding contacts within the WhatsApp platform. Otherwise, the system will redirect them to their phone’s Contacts app.

This feature will prove highly valuable for users worldwide, saving time when adding new WhatsApp contacts and eliminating the need to switch to the phone’s Contacts app to save or edit new contacts.

Moreover, it will help users maintain focus within the WhatsApp app. Switching between apps to save contacts can lead to distractions and potential forgetfulness. With this new feature, users won’t have to worry about wasting time or being sidetracked, as everything can be done directly within WhatsApp.
