WhatsApp is Getting New Larger Emojis, Music Sharing and Video Calling

Looks like the biggest messaging app ‘WhatsApp’ could be getting interesting new features really soon, well according to leaks from Macerkopf. The German site found a set of new features in the iOS beta app which includes Larger Emojis, Music Sharing, Mentions and Public Groups.

If you followed Apple WWDC keynote this month, the company recently introduced Larger Emojis to its iMessage app alongside iOS 10, however, Larger Emojis isn’t a new feature to messaging apps but it seems WhatsApp isn’t going to be left out on this trend so plans to do the same to its own messaging app shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Music Sharing on Whatsapp for iPhone has been a wanted feature for iPhone users but WhatsApp already allows sharing of pictures, videos, files, contacts and links but still, this wasn’t enough. Now according to the leaks, it looks like the Music sharing feature might arrive on iOS. Though users will only be allowed to share music stored locally and Apple Music tracks  but there’s no news if this feature will support other streaming services.

The Mentions feature might be the most interesting feature yet and those who’re familiar with how Twitter works would know about the Mentions feature because this feature is actually like that of Twitter because you can tag contacts on your list to a chat.

The Public Groups will allow anyone with a link to the group to post to it. But the power to shut down the group will be in the admin’s hands.

WhatsApp voice calling has been used about 100 million times per day which has surpassed that of Skype and the Video calling feature could be the next big thing. Though rumours of the Video Calling has been around for a while now but this seems to be the most awaited feature so far and could be also be launching soon.
